Protect Your Skin with PSC products this Fall and Winter!

November is national healthy skin month! Now that fall is here, it is especially important to get into a healthy skincare routine and prevent your skin from getting dry or damaged in the colder months.  Here at The Plastic Surgery Center, our physicians and aestheticians are happy to recommend an array of products and services that can help you to look and feel your best. Here are some of our favorite tips for healthy skin all fall and winter long. We are proud to recommend services at our on-site medi spa, Sycamore Medi Spa.

Switch your cleanser and moisturizer. As the skin becomes dry in the colder months, you may want to evaluate what kind of cleanser and moisturizer you’re using on a daily basis. In the summer, you may use stronger cleanser to rid your skin of any excess oils. Now that it’s fall, it may be beneficial to switch up what you’re using to add moisture to your skin. Our team recommends our private label night cream and AM moisturizer.

Use a hyaluronic acid serum. A hyaluronic acid serum is a great way to hydrate your skin and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Adding in a serum in addition to your moisturizer will make a noticeable difference in your fall and winter skincare routine. We are proud to recommend our PSC private label hyaluronic acid serum.

Drink more water. Oftentimes, when people are experiencing dry skin, it isn’t a problem with the products they are using. Sometimes, the cause may simply be dehydration. Upping your water intake is a good idea if you feel your skin is extra dry.

Get facials regularly.  “My favorite winter treatment is the Salt Facial,” says our aesthetician Donna Battisti, “It exfoliates with natural sea salt for healthier brighter hydrated skin!  Sea salt hydrates and nurtures your skin at a cellular level with no down time. Your skin will look refreshed, hydrated and softer immediately after treatment!”

Limit Shower Time. Although it feels good to warm up with a hot shower or bath, doing so can also dry out the skin a substantial amount. Try to limit your hot showers in length when possible, and always use a moisturizing lotion on your face and body afterwards.

Wear SPF. Even though it’s no longer summer, it’s important to always wear SPF daily. Whenever you are going to be outside, your skin is exposed to the sun’s harmful rays, no matter what time of year. A good rule of thumb is to apply a sheer SPF, such as our PSC private label, first thing in the morning beneath your other skincare or makeup products.

Routine is key. Knowing which products to use and what order to use them in can be daunting and confusing. We make it simple with our PSC private label skincare line.
