Overview

Embarrassing. Unpleasant. Uncomfortable. If you are living with unpredictable and excessive underarm sweating or hyperhidrosis, we can help. Excessive sweating may be caused by an underlying condition, but most people with hyperhidrosis are otherwise healthy. This condition can also affect the hands, feet, and face, and can often impact self-confidence and personal relationships. Our highly-skilled physicians and aestheticians specialize in the use of BOTOX® injectables, providing 6 months (or more) of relief with minimal side effects.

Types of Hyperhidrosis Treatments

Antiperspirants

Some physicians prescribe antiperspirants, such as clinical antiperspirants with aluminum chloride or wipes soaked in Qbrexza to treat excessive sweating. These are applied topically, and the frequency of use depends on the severity of symptoms and each person's response to treatment.

Prescriptions

Various oral medications may be prescribed by your doctor to help manage symptoms of excessive sweating. These include nerve blockers, antidepressants, or anti-anxiety medication, which can reduce sweat gland overproduction.

Botox Injections

In combination with other therapies, our physicians and skin care experts specialize in hyperhidrosis injections to provide relief from excessive sweating. Using BOTOX® injections, we provide a safe, non-surgical option to decrease underarm sweating or hyperhidrosis symptoms for extended periods of time.

Hyperhidrosis injections use a purified botulinum toxin to block nerves from sending chemical signals to your sweat glands, substantially reducing sweat production. Injections can also treat hands (palms), feet, and other body areas. Many patients prefer BOTOX® therapy because results can last from six months to a year, drastically improving quality of life.

Am I a

Candidate for Hyperhidrosis Injections?

BOTOX® injections or hyperhidrosis injections are recommended for adults aged 18 or older who are in general good health. Approved by the FDA, this treatment offers a safe complementary or alternative treatment option for people who experience excessive sweating in the underarm, hands, feet, or face. Hyperhidrosis injections are often recommended in combination with other treatment options, such as antiperspirants and prescription medication.

How To Stop Excessive Sweating With Botox Injections

What to Expect

Underarm treatments involve 20 or more injections under each arm. Before your hyperhidrosis injections, our specially-trained staff will provide detailed information about what you can expect before, during, and after the procedure. On the day of treatment, your skin will be cleansed with an antibacterial agent.

A topical or local anesthetic may be used to numb the area.

Next, the physician will use a very tiny needle to inject BOTOX® below the skin, effectively blocking sweat-inducing signals sent from the underlying nerves, causing a decrease in sweat production.

Recovery &
Results

You can expect to notice an improvement in excessive sweating within several days of BOTOX® hyperhidrosis injections. You will be sent home immediately following the procedure and should avoid exercise, bathing, and showering for the rest of the day.

While some discomfort, numbness, or swelling may occur, these symptoms usually resolve within 24  to 48 hours. Over-the-counter pain medication and ice should help relieve discomfort, and you can return to normal activities as tolerated.
